My mother is a Chambers. There was a family story that said a little
Frenchman came to the United States and married a Cherokee. That was
supposed to be my great, great grandparents. When I first started looking
for my ancestors with my mother's mother I quickly found that the story was not
true, at least for my great, great grandparents. It may be, but several
more generations back. That Chambers, as was his father were born in
the United States. I'm still looking for the Cherokee blood and to take
the line further back. Working with only one person looking for parents is
hard. I've now discovered several potential siblings form my eldest
Chambers, Esquire, so maybe the hunting will now be easier.
