In 1892, Felix and Evaline Mathis family moved to a homestead three and a half miles southeast of Thomas, Oklahoma. The family farmed and operated a
post office known as Cora Post Office, ran a grocery store, and operated a blacksmith shop. Felix was an ordained Baptist minister who held religious services, performed wedding ceremonies and conducted funerals over a wide area. |
